Unit Lesson: Vertebrate Animals
I created this unit lesson for the class BIO-Q 201 Biology for Elementary Teachers. It has students explore the diversity among animals and examine the many different ways animals can be sorted, with an emphasis on how scientists have classified animals. The lesson culminate into a research projects on an animals as a final assessment.
Production Badge
In the class EDUC-W 200 Technology in Education, I produced an example of an online book students could create as a project. Having students create their own work can enhance how the students engage themselves in their own learning. Producing something they can show others can create a sense of pride in their work.
Problem-Based Learning Lesson Plan
In the class EDUC-W 200 Technology in Education, I created a lesson plan that asks the students "What kinds of things do holidays celebrate?" Then over the next few weeks, it allows students to guide their own learning and decide how they want to show their new knowledge to their classmates. The lesson enhances student learning by giving them enough freedom to harness their creativity and curiosity.
Jeopardy Badge
In the class EDUC-W 200 Technology in Education, I created a jeopardy game using the website playfactile.com. The one I made was over second grade math concepts however, the website is so versatile that it can be used for any subject. I really like this website because it is easy to use, and engaging for students.
Digital Citizenship Lesson Plan
In the class EDUC-W 200 Technology in Education, I created this lesson plan which uses a board game to teach students how to search online using the alphabet. It utilizes QR codes that directs the students toward engaging games that correspond to a certain word that they then write a mini dictionary entry on, so at the end of the lesson, they have a mini dictionary to keep.
